Variety is the Spice of Life

So, all that drivel about being determined to grow my hair out? I guess you might say it was my own personal pep-talk. Because, deep down, I've been wanting to do this for a long time:

And although I still do think my hair looks best long, I was getting tired of the Lady Lovely Locks look. Besides, I'm moving to St. George this summer and don't want to spend an hour a day under the blow dryer!

Eliza and Naomi have been trying to talk me out of it for a month now, and on principle have cast their votes against. TJ was not excited about the idea, but is warming up to it, as he always does. Paul and Ezra give me strange looks now and then, but still seem to love me just the same.

I'm hoping high school friends in St. George won't recognize me. What do you think?

Why I Think it's Great that Messy 'Dos are "In"

My first grader looks like a movie star, and he did it all by himself.
Now, if the scraggly, orphaned look would just take with kindergarten girls, we'd be set.

Mother's Day Pics

Happy Mother's Day!

This one goes out to my mom, who loved me enough to repeat herself when I needed it! Love you Mom!

Look Out, World

Paul is taking this place by storm. This video was taken a few days ago, when his path of destruction was more limited. Now he can get to anyplace in the room.
I thought you would enjoy seeing my little terror from the point of view of a bit of food or an innocent library book sitting on the floor. Paul is so excited to seek and destroy all the cool stuff he's only been able to gaze at from afar in the past. It's cuter than cute.

I Heart St. George

I am ecstatic! I seriously can't tell you how happy I am!

Because we are moving to St. George! This summer! Want some more exclamation points? Here you go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
St. George is my hometown in the truest sense of the word, even though I was raised mostly in Southern California. My grandparents live there, and when I was a kid, we spent every vacation there. My family always dreamed of living there, and finally did when I was a senior in high school. I came of age, went to college, and fell in love there. I left somewhat unwillingly, so TJ could continue his education at BYU--seriously, what's the problem? major in nursing or something and then we can stay! We took a teaching job in Wyoming, because schoolteachers in St. George get paid peanuts in addition to the privilege of living there. We came to Salt Lake to train for CES. And now, after nine years of marriage, we are finally heading home.

TJ is very satisfied. Mom is joyful, too. She and Dad have combined forces with Georgia and Lance and Grandma Monnett to pray us down there. The Lord has been so good to us.

Exclamation point!
